Global threats continue to evolve.  Unfortunately the private security industry has been slow to evolve itself and adjust to the complex threatscape.  Outdated training and industry low standards do little the meet the need for comprehensive safety and active security programs.  CSP recognizes this and determined better training and the adherence to a higher standard are what is required for the Security Professional and Profession.   

 

That's why CSP has developed, and operates its  SECURITY TRAINING ACADEMY.

CSP's SECURITY TRAINING ACADEMY is licensed by the State of Texas & New Mexico 

Private Security Bureau (TX: B07307601 / NM: TPP3927). (. We provide State of Texas (license F-09388201) & State of New Mexico Security and Personal Protection Officer mandated and sustainment training in accordance with the state approved curriculum however; unlike most Security Officer training providers, CSP's principals, management and instructor cadre all possess vast experience within the private and US Government protective services community.  

 

CSP's personnel have and continue to protect Fortune 100 & 500 Executives, "A-list" Celebrities and their Estates, High Net-Worth Individuals (Domestic and International) and Exclusive Event Venues. Our Protective Services personnel have served on and led international, high-threat personal protection teams for US and Allied Nation Government Officials.   

 

Our Security Professional Training courses meet state licensing requirements but do not stop there.  We provide training that exceeds regulatory mandates; conducted by experienced and disciplined protective services professionals the ensure our course graduates are prepared for their security assignments.

CSP SECURITY TRAINING ACADEMY COURSES (TEXAS)

Level 2
Non-Commissioned                   (UnArmed Security Officer)

Course Duration:  6 hours 

Course Tuition: $50

Includes:  Level 2 training manual & issuance of course completion certificate (graduates).  

 

Course Description:   This course covers the required State-Approved curriculum required by The Texas Department of Public Safety-Private Security Bureau in order to certify an officer as having completed a course of study for Level 2 Training in accordance with Chapter 1702 of the Texas Occupations Code.

AGE: You must be at least 18 years old to become certified in the State of Texas as a Level 2 unarmed Security Officer.

 

Level 4
Personal Protection Officer

Course Duration: 21 Hours

Includes: All course material, use of CSP Security Training Academy Firearms (if applicable), Level 4 Training Manual, issuance of two course completion certificates to course graduates.

Course Description: This course covers the required State Approved curriculum required by the Texas Department of Public Safety-Private Security Bureau in order to certify an officer having completed a course of study for Level 4 training in accordance with Chapter 1702 of the Texas Occupations Code. Course Graduates will be awarded:   Level 4 (PPO) Certificate of Training an a Certificate of Firearms Proficiency in accordance with State mandated standards.  

 

Age: 21 Years of Age (at the time of your application to the Board)

This course includes instruction on the following topics: Escape/Evade Training, Preplanning Routes and Alternatives, Travel Considerations, Profiling your Principal, Awareness Skills Training, State Licensing Requirements, Pocket Cards, Requirements to be a Commissioned Personal Protection Officer (Close Protection / Bodyguard) in Texas, Licensing of Companies, Violations by Commissioned Officers and Personal Protection Officers, Standards of Conduct, Functionof Personal Protection Officers, Arrest Authority, Article 14.01 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, Article 18.16 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, Chapter 42.01 of Texas Penal Code, Chapter 9 Use of Deadly Force, Use of Force Concepts, Issues Relating to the Concealed Handgun License, Field Note Taking, Report Writing, Response to Emergency Situations, Hazardous Materials, Fire Recognition and Response, Bomb Threats, Terrorist Response, Accidents Involving Serious Injury or Harm, Public Perception of a Security Officer and PPO Officer, Conflict Resolution, Force Options, Five Step Hard Style, Radio Procedures, Handcuffing Techniques, and Firearms Training.

CSP Academy: Venue Advance Training for Close Protection Officers

Course Description:  This course covers the required State-Approved curriculum required by The Texas Department of Public Safety-Private Security Bureau in order to certify an officer as having completed a course of study for Level III Training in accordance with Chapter 1702 of the Texas Occupations Code.

This course includes instruction on the following topics: Licensing, Pocket Cards, Requirements to be a Commissioned Officer in Texas, Licensing of Companies, Violations by Commissioned Officers, Standards of Conduct, Function of Security Officers, Arrest Authority, Laws Pertinent to the Security Officer, Article 14.01 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, Article 18.16 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, Chapter 42.01 of Texas Penal Code, Chapter 9 Use of Deadly Force, Use of Force Concepts, Issues Relating to the Concealed Handgun License, Field Note Taking, Report Writing, Response to Emergency Situations, Hazardous Materials, Crime Scene, Witness Interviewing, Awareness Skills, Cover & Concealment, Fire Recognition and Response, Bomb Threats, Terrorist Response, Accidents Involving Serious Injury or Harm, Public Perception of a Security Officer, Conflict Resolution, Weaponless Strategies, Intermediate Weapons, Defensive Tactics, Handcuffing Techniques, and Firearms Training & Actual Range Qualification.

NOTE:As of Sept. 1st, 2005 (as amended by House Bill 1132 in the 79th Texas Legislature) Shotgun Qualification is no longer required as part of an "Original Commission" or "Re-Qualification." Your certificate of training will reflect that you qualified and were proficient with a Shotgun. Your commission card will also reflect Shotgun status which will allow you to carry a Shotgun in performance of your duties as a Commissioned Security Officer. CSP PROVIDES THE SHOTGUN RENTAL AT NO CHARGE.

​

You must qualify with a minimum caliber of  9mm semi-automatic or 38. Caliber revolver (as required by Chapter 1702 of the Texas Occupations Code.)  Handguns of lesser caliber will not be accepted under State Law.

Level 1
UnArmed Security Officer

Course Duration:  8 hours 

Course Tuition: $100

Includes:  Level 1 training manual & issuance of course completion certificate (graduates).  

 

Course Description:   This course covers basic legal responsibilities, qualifications, restrictions, and liabilities of a Level One Security Guard, with inclusion of the following training: (1) use of force continuum, appropriate use of force, and de-escalation techniques; (2) power of detention and New Mexico laws relevant to citizen arrest such as appropriate search and seizure techniques, legal restrictions, and civil liability, including laws relevant to and concerning New Mexico trespass; (3) authoritative image and manner of communication with citizens and local law enforcement, with respect to jurisdiction and limits of authority, radio dispatch protocol, and other oral communication tools; (4) experience with the identification of evidence, securing the immediate area of security responsibility, and identifying participants and witnesses; and ( 5) employing a practical knowledge of professional communication, note-taking, and report writing.

AGE: You must be at least 18 years old to become certified in the State of NM as a Level 1 unarmed Security Officer.

 

Level 2
UnArmed Security Officer

Course Duration:  20 hours

Includes:  Level 2 training manual & issuance of course completion certificate (graduates).  

 

Course Description:   Mexico Security Guard Level 2         Students will cover all required training in accordance with NMSA 1978 61-27B-1 through 61-27B-36 and Rules and Regulations Title 16 Chapter 48 parts 1-7. This course covers and demonstrates aspects of the professional level two security guard framework, basic legal and practical knowledge of the use of force continuum, personal/employer liability, verbal and written communication skills, and conflict management, while learning new protocol for defensive impact weapons, restraint control devices, and chemical agents. Upon completing this training student will receive a proof of successful completion certificate of graduation.

​

AGE: You must be at least 21 years old to become certified in the State of NM as a Level 2 Security Officer and have proof of current NM Level 1 certification.

​

Taser training available for an additional 4 hours of training, must be 21 years old, cost $150

Level 3
Armed Security Officer

Course Duration:  16 hours 

Course Tuition: $300

​

Includes:  Level 3 training manual & issuance of course completion certificate (graduates).  

 

Course Description: New Mexico Security Officer Level 3 Courser covers all required training in accordance with NMSA 1978 61-27B-1 through 61-27B-36 and Rules and Regulations Title 16 Chapter 48 parts 1-7. New Mexico Security Guard Level 2 training MUST be verified prior to admittance in 3D STS New Mexico Security Guard Level 3 training.

Training includes classroom, practical, and range training as well as scenario based training for a NM Level 3 security officer and a end of course written and practical exams. Upon completing this training student will receive a proof of successful completion certificate of graduation.

​

AGE: You must be at least 21 years old to become certified in the State of NM as a Level 3 Armed Security Officer.
